General Dentistry

General dentistry is the everyday care that keeps a mouth healthy: exams, cleanings, fillings, crowns, gum therapy, and urgent problems handled when they come up. At Bellaire Dental Group on Chimney Rock Road, Dr. Valter provides that care for adults and children across Houston, Bellaire, West University, Upper Kirby, and Meyerland.

Care that starts with a conversation

Most people who come to us have had at least one visit somewhere that felt rushed. We built our schedule to avoid that. Appointments are unhurried, questions get real answers, and you see what we see before anyone talks about treatment.

Dr. Valter started out in dental hygiene before she became a dentist, and that background shapes how the practice runs. Prevention comes first. When something does need fixing, you get an honest plan with the reasoning behind it, including what happens if you wait. Nothing gets added to a treatment plan to pad it out.

General dentistry services at our Houston office

Below is what we handle in house. Each page explains the procedure in plain language, who it tends to help, and what a visit involves.

What a routine visit looks like

  1. We catch up first. Changes in your health, medications, or anything that has been bothering you. This part matters more than people expect.
  2. Exam and images. A look at every tooth, your bite, and your soft tissues, with x-rays taken only when they will actually change what we do.
  3. Cleaning. Plaque and tartar come off, and we point out the spots your brushing tends to miss.
  4. Findings, together. We show you photos or images of anything we found so you can see it yourself.
  5. A plan you agree with. What needs attention now, what can be watched, and what it involves. You decide the pace.

Comfort, language, and getting in

Dental anxiety is common and we do not treat it as a character flaw. Nitrous oxide sedation is available for patients who want it, and simply telling us you are nervous changes how we run the appointment.

Our team speaks English, Spanish, Russian, and Hebrew, so families can ask questions in the language they think in. We are open Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Friday morning from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Call or text (713) 668-8383, or send an appointment request through our online portal. Patients have left us a 4.9 rating across 372 Google reviews, and that feedback is a fair picture of how the office actually feels.

Common questions

How often should I come in for a checkup?

Most adults do well with an exam and cleaning every six months. Some people need to come more often, particularly if they have gum disease, dry mouth, diabetes, or a history of frequent cavities. Dr. Valter will tell you what makes sense for your mouth rather than applying one schedule to everyone.

Do you see children as well as adults?

Yes. We care for kids and adults in the same office, which makes family scheduling much easier. You can read more on our pediatric dentistry page.

What if I have not been to a dentist in years?

You will not get a lecture. A lot of our new patients come in after a long gap, often because a bad experience or a busy stretch of life got in the way. We start with an exam, explain what we find, and sort treatment into what is urgent and what can wait.

Where is your office and which areas do you serve?

We are at 6699 Chimney Rock Rd Suite 101, Houston, TX 77081. Most of our patients come from Houston, Bellaire, West University, Upper Kirby, and Meyerland, though we welcome anyone in the Houston area.
