Three kinds of care under one roof
Most of what a mouth needs falls into three buckets, and we handle all three here so you are not sent across town for routine work.
If you are not sure which category your question belongs in, call or text us at (713) 668-8383 and describe it in plain words. We will tell you what kind of visit it needs, and whether it needs one at all.
- General dentistry. Cleanings and exams, tooth-colored fillings, crowns and bridges, gum disease treatment, dentures and partials, emergency care, TMJ treatment, snoring appliances, oral cancer screening, and nitrous oxide for patients who need help relaxing.
- Cosmetic dentistry. Teeth whitening, veneers, dental implants, clear aligners, Snap-On Smile, plus BOTOX and dermal fillers.
- Pediatric dentistry. Cleanings, sealants, fluoride, fillings, and first visits for children age 2 and up, at an unhurried pace.
How we decide what you actually need
Dr. Valter started out in dental hygiene before becoming a dentist, and it shaped how this practice runs. She spent years on the other side of the chair watching patients get talked into work they did not understand, so she does the opposite.
You get told what we see, what it means, what happens if you do nothing, and what it would take to fix it. Some things need treatment today. Some things we watch and recheck at your next visit. Some things are cosmetic and entirely your call. We will tell you which is which, and we will not pretend a maybe is an emergency.
That also means appointments are not rushed. More than half a century of serving the same neighborhoods has taught us that people come back to the dentist who explained things, not the one who worked fastest.
What a first visit looks like
- You talk, we listen. What is bothering you, what has been done before, what you are worried about, and what your budget realistically allows.
- A full exam. Teeth, existing fillings and crowns, gums and pocket depths, bite, jaw joints, and a visual and tactile oral cancer screening. Digital images only where there is a reason to take them.
- A cleaning, if it is the right day for it. If your gums need deeper treatment than a routine cleaning, we will say so rather than doing a quick polish and sending you off.
- A plan you can actually read. Written out, ordered by urgency, with what your insurance is expected to cover. Nothing gets scheduled until you understand it.
Close to home, in four languages
We are on Chimney Rock, minutes from Bellaire, West University, Upper Kirby, and Meyerland. Our team speaks English, Spanish, Russian, and Hebrew, which matters more than people expect: dental decisions are hard enough without a language barrier in the middle of them.
Office hours are Monday and Tuesday 8a to 5p, Wednesday and Thursday 7a to 3p, and Friday 8a to 12p. Those early Wednesday and Thursday starts are popular with patients who would rather not miss a workday. You can request an appointment online, or call or text (713) 668-8383.

Common questions
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. New patients of all ages from 2 and up are welcome, including families who want everyone seen at the same office. Request an appointment through our online portal, or call or text (713) 668-8383 and we will find a time that works.
What insurance do you take?
Rather than guess, let us check your specific plan before your visit. Call or text us with your insurance information and we will verify your benefits and tell you what to expect out of pocket. If you do not have dental insurance, ask about our in-office discount program and financing options.
Do you see children and adults at the same practice?
Yes. Dr. Valter sees children from age 2 alongside their parents and grandparents, so a family can often be scheduled back to back instead of driving to two offices. If a child needs care beyond what a general practice should provide, we will tell you plainly and help you find a pediatric specialist.
I have not been to a dentist in years. Will I get a lecture?
No. A lot of our new patients have been away for a while, and shame is not a treatment plan. We look at where things stand today, sort it into what is urgent and what can wait, and start there. Nitrous oxide sedation is available if anxiety is part of what kept you away.
