The standard we build to
This site is built to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. That is the benchmark most commonly referenced for public websites in the United States, and it is the target we design and test against.
What that means on this site
Accessibility here is built into the pages themselves rather than added on top of them.
- Semantic page structure, so screen readers can announce headings, lists, and landmarks correctly
- Every meaningful image carries descriptive alternative text, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers
- The whole site can be operated by keyboard, with a visible focus outline on every link, button, and form field
- Text and background colors are chosen to meet contrast requirements in both light and dark display settings
- Buttons and tap targets are sized for comfortable use on a phone
- Animation and background video respect your system's reduced motion setting and stop when you ask your device to limit motion
- A skip link lets keyboard users jump straight to the main content
Why we do not use an accessibility overlay
Some websites install a third-party overlay widget that promises instant accessibility. We deliberately do not. Disability advocates and accessibility professionals have repeatedly found that these tools interfere with the screen readers and assistive software people already use, and they do not fix the underlying page.
Building the page correctly in the first place is slower and it is the approach that actually works.
Tell us if something does not work
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to hear about it, and we will help you get what you need in the meantime by phone.
Call or text (713) 668-8383, or write to Bellaire Dental Group, 6699 Chimney Rock Rd, Suite 101, Houston, TX 77081. Please tell us the page and what happened, and we will work on a fix.
Note to the practice: accessibility is ongoing, not a one-time certification. Re-check the site after any significant content or design change.
Common questions
Can I get help by phone instead of using the website?
Yes, always. Call or text (713) 668-8383 and a member of the team will book your appointment, answer questions about services, or read you anything on this site. Nothing here is only available online.
Does the office itself have accessible access?
Please call (713) 668-8383 before your visit and we will tell you exactly what to expect at 6699 Chimney Rock Rd, Suite 101, and make arrangements to help you get in comfortably.
